David Story Field
The 2009 Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series is being played at David Story Field on the campus of Lower Columbia College in downtown Longview, WA. Story Field is the home of the LCC Red Devils, who have won nine Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) baseball championships since 1970.
The infield is made of a new Astro-Play synthetic surface and the outfield is grass. The 1,500 seat park will be increased to 2,000 for the Babe Ruth World Series. Fence dimensions are 326 feet down the lines, 350 feet to the power alleys and 387 feet to center field.
Former major leaguers who played for LCC at Story Field are San Diego Padres Manager Buddy Black and Louisville Bats (AAA) Manager Rick Sweet.
